Ala Moana Center is located just outside of Waikiki across from Ala Moana Beach Park. This enormous, open-air shopping center boasts over 250 shops and restaurants, including everything from big brand names like Armani, Abercrombie & Fitch, Banana Republic, Polo/Ralph Lauren and the new Ruehl No. 925, to locally owned shops and boutiques like Martin & MacArthur, where you can find beautiful hand crafted koa wood furniture, home accents and accessories. There are also four major department stores - Macy's, Sears, Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom, set to open in early March 2008.
The mall has a large food court on the street level called the Makai Market and a collection of excellent restaurants on the top level, called the Ho'okipa Terrace, where you can find Romano's Macaroni Grill, California Pizza Kitchen, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Kyoto Ohsho, Ruby Tuesdays, Mai Tai Bar and more. Two up-scale dining spots include Longhi's, an award-winning restaurant from Maui and Morton's Steakhouse of Chicago fame.
