Thai Cuisine
Chiang Mai, serving delicious curries, including yellow, red and green curries and many other dishes.
Hawaii is blessed with many wonderful Thai restaurants in almost all price ranges. Traditional Thai food has been influenced by China, India, Portugal, Holland, Japan and France. Whether through cooking methods or something as small as Chilies, brought from South America by the Portuguese to what was then Siam, the Thais were very good at substituting ingredients and making it their own.
So the heavier ghee from India became coconut oil and dairy products were replaced with coconut milk. And the results have been remarkable. Wonderful flavors and textures that pop in your mouth - if you've never tried Thai, do so in Hawaii for the greatest selection of really excellent Thai restaurants.
