Many people think Japanese cuisine is basically sushi, rice, tempura and perhaps, Teppanyaki. But there is much more to the cuisine and here in Hawaii Japanese restaurants run the range from little noodle shops to gourmet dining and everything in between.
If you've never eaten Japanese food, a good place to start might be at one of the many "Izakaya", or tavern or pub restaurants serving small plates of delicious food, or a Teppanyaki Restaurant where the food is cooked for you by very talented and entertaining chefs, great for the whole family.
