Many residents think this is the very best of all of Roy Yamaguchi's restaurants (although the one on Waikiki Beach Walk is a close contender). It also is the first restaurant opened by the up-and-coming Chef 20 years ago, featuring his inventive Hawaii Regional Cuisine.
Not only did it impress residents of Oahu, but also national recognition from Food & Wine Magazine who called it the "crown jewel of Honolulu's East-West eateries" and from Conde Nast Traveler's it was named in the "Top 50" restaurants in the U.S. Since the day the doors opened, it has been a huge success and is always busy, whether during the week or on the weekends. The food is delicious, beautifully prepared and plated with explosions of taste in every bite. The upstairs dining room is large and can get a little noisy, but the bar area and outside area are great for quieter dining.
Reservations recommended. Open Mon. to Thurs. from 5:30 to 9:30 pm; Fri. from 5:30 to 10 pm; Sat. from 5 to 10 pm; Sun. from 5 to 9:30 pm.
