Interisland fares on Hawaiian Airlines will be going up by $5 to $20 per way starting on Thursday, May 1, 2008. This increase is in response to a continuing rise of operating costs, especially jet fuel. Fares between Hilo and Kona will rise an additional $5 due to the longer length of these flights.
Effective for travel from June 10, 2008, Hawaiian Airlines will begin to asses a $25 fee per way for passengers checking in a second piece of luggage. This fee applies for any transpacific domestic flights between the Continental U.S. and Hawaii. This does not apply for transpacific international flights to the Philippines, Australia, American Samoa and Tahiti or for interisland flights.
